the Society of Friends of the Cernuschi Museum
Founded in 1922 and recognized of public interest since 1986,
The Society of Friends of the Cernuschi Museum aims to enrich the collections of the Cernuschi Museum, the Asian Arts Museum of the city of Paris, through active research for patronage and to promote knowledge of Asian arts and cultures through the organization of monthly conferences and guided tours of exhibitions.
From the beginning of the twentieth century, the Society of Friends of the Cernuschi Museum contributed to the rediscovery of ancient Asia through major acquisitions in the field of Chinese archeology. At the same time, the museum and the Society of Friends play a pioneering role for Asian artists active in Paris, and bring into the permanent collections modern and contemporary works from China, Japan, Vietnam and Korea.
