Le Museums of Fine Arts - Avenue Dom Vayssette - 81600 Gaillac presents the exhibition Treasures of the Beijing Art Museum.

Exceptional exhibition bringing together some 140 paintings and objects from the XNUMXth century to the beginning of the XNUMXth century, most of which are coming out of the Beijing Art Museum (Wanshou Temple) for the first time.

The visitor walks in a thematic route referring to the world of scholars and to the great inspirations of the time. These are masterpieces of Chinese art that are presented in Gaillac, at the Museum of Fine Arts. Whether calligraphy, paintings, and works of art exceptional by their rarity and size, these works were all made by renowned painters including emperors, empress and princes. This event naturally finds its roots in Gaillac thanks to the eminent personality of Antoine Gaubil who recalls the links that Gaillac has maintained with China since the XNUMXth century.
The exhibition, through the themes of calligraphy, landscapes, the human presence in the landscape and the evocation of the universe of nature, aims to show how this art was part of a very intellectual universe. rich where philosophy, religion and culture occupied an essential place.
