Description
The year 2023 is an exceptional opportunity for the Society of Friends to offer the museum a work of prime importance in the history of its collection. It is dark moon, a large ink painting (115cm x 101cm) by Gao Xingjian, a key figure in a cultural history shared between China and France.
Winner of the Nobel Prize in 2000, he is the author of a major literary and pictorial work and has practiced ink painting since 1978. His vocabulary combines an asserted symbolist dimension and a
formal abstract using the tonal richness of ink.
Take part in this acquisition which would mark the entry of Gao Xingjian into the contemporary art collection of the Cernuschi museum and for the first time into a museum in France.
The donations collected will be eligible for tax reductions in use.
