Exoticism and fantasy in Rococo Europe 1720-1770

This exhibition brings together an emblematic selection of 150 works and objects inspired by China and other countries of the Far East. The most diverse techniques (tapestries, earthenware, porcelain, painting, goldsmith's work) bear witness to the beauty and fantasy of the Rococo period (circa 1690-circa 1770). An audiovisual replaces this fashion in its architectural and landscaped context, and the catalog, a veritable sum on the subject, brings together the contributions of the best European specialists.
