Dragons
Exhibition from November 18, 2025 to March 6, 2026 at the Musée du Quai Branly-Jacques Chirac.
5000 years of stories and legends of Asian dragons are revealed through this exhibition designed with the National Palace Museum in Taipei, Taiwan.
The dragon, originating in China, is nothing like the evil, fire-breathing creature known by that name in the West. Rather, it embodies universal life energy and the element of water. The earth depends on its omnipotence to receive the blessings of the heavens.
The exhibition Dragons presents an exceptional selection of objects and works of art, from the first dragons that appeared on ancient jades and bronzes to contemporary popular forms, including imperial arts.
The dragon, celestial lord, continues its flight. Having been the emblem of the emperors' omnipotence, it continues to connect earth to heaven to bring strength and prosperity to men.
