The exhibition tells the immense spaces of China in the Caucasus. Nearly two hundred jewels from a private collection lead visitors to the Silk Road trails, passing through Mongolia, Tibet, Bhutan, Nepal, North India, Afghanistan, Pakistan and Central Asia. Whether in amber, turquoise, coral, gold or silver, encrusted with precious stones or enriched with feathers, these gems of exceptional quality reveal peoples, civilizations and cultures whose memory disappears. They also tell us about the passion, the perseverance that led collectors on all continents in search of ornaments whose first criteria were beauty and quality. Seduced by the richness of the imaginary and ancestral traditions of these populations, they have never ceased to gather adornments-witnesses of worlds in perdition.
