Bai Ming, Painter-Ceramist

BAI MING, PAINTER-CERAMIST
50th anniversary of Sino-French diplomatic relations (1964-2014)
Exhibition of 10 July at 4 August 2014

Bai Ming is now a recognized artist whose activity as a visual artist and teacher contributes to renew and reinvigorate in depth the contemporary Chinese creation in the ceramic field. It mixes ancestral technical traditions and typologies with the most modern plastic expressions.
In the field of painting, he uses both oil and ink painting in an eclectic style that alternates geometric compositions and gestural practices. The affirmed abstraction, the bold and dynamic framing as well as the dialectical relationship that the artist has with ancient Chinese painting allow him to achieve a strong individual expression that attests to the constantly renewed vigor of the Chinese tradition.

Bai Ming's paintings and ceramics are presented at the Cernuschi Museum on the occasion of the 50e anniversary (1964-2014) of the establishment of Sino-French diplomatic relations.
