Nakajima Yasumi II is the eldest son of artist Yasumi I born in Osaka. He graduated from the National School of Applied Art in
Sendai and 1933 participated for the first time in the Exhibition of Applied Arts for Export organized by the Ministry of Industry and Trade. He also exhibited at the Grand Salon in Paris, at the Export Exhibition in Buenos Aires. In 1952, he won the Hokuto-shô medal at the Nitten trade fair (Japanese traditional arts fair) .He later received the 1969 honorary medal for the traditional arts of Osaka Prefecture.
